Share Your Story

Create your Story or Tip & include it in the HIV Sisters Living Quilt




 1.)  PERSONAL STORY:   The Story must feature a woman or girl.
       It should show an aspect of how she is infected, impacted, or
       at risk for HIV/AIDS.  It may be autobiographical or be created
       by someone else (biographical).  But the woman/girl who is
       profiled must consent to having her story told & made public.
       Men and boys may participate as part of her story.

       HEALTHY TIP:  Anyone can submit a Tip & do not have to include a
       woman or girl.  Write a brief version of your Tip on a sheet
       of paper (8.5 x 11 inches) & hold it up as you tell us your Tip.  

 2.)   Figure out what you want to show or tell us about how
       HIV/AIDS impacts your life.  Keep it simple.  Stick to one theme or
       topic so it's focused.

 3.)   Brainstorm on powerful visual images to tell your story.  Show us
       rather than tell us when possible.

 4.)   If you decide to include other people in your Story or Tip,
       make sure that you have their permission and that they sign
       appearance releases.

 5.)   Create your Story or Tip using video, audio, images, &/or text.
       Be creative & have fun!  Use a combination of these elements
       or just use one.  Explore which elements best work for your Story.
       Use a tripod. Shoot with enough light & record in a place that's

6.)   Upload your Story or Tip to YouTube (we only support YouTube links for now).
 

7.)   If you want your Story or Tip included on the HIV Sisters website,
email us your URL:  HIVsisters AT gmail DOT com

8.)   We will check out your video & email you a confirmation once we have embedded
your video into the HIV Sisters Living Quilt.
